SMALL COUNTRY CHURCH
PASTOR TRINA SEGNA
Last night I went to visit an old church I use to go to. I have been to several churches but had not found one that made me happy. Last night I was happy. wonderful congregation, great preaching, as a matter of fact, its the preacher that brought me what I am about to tell you.
We have been to visit several church's and there always seemed to be something missing. the Pastor's of many of these church's were always the "I did this and I did that", kind of Pastor never once giving gratitude to the congregation. Pastors forget that without their congregation, they would only have themselves to preach to and quite frankly, they should be preaching to themselves. The Pastor at the church I went to last night, I have known for a few years now. He has a compassionate heart and a huge sense of humor. I don't think I have ever seen a frown on his face. The thing that caught me was that I noticed how opposite he was to the other Pastors of the church's when it came to the "I did this and I did that"! He was doing something I rarely see in a church, he was encouraging the congregation to move forward in their gifts and telling them that if God gives them a word, to speak up and tell it or if you are led to do something then do it. Many Pastors want the fame and the name, they don't want their congregation to be noticed, they don't want to loose the money in their pockets. Christ said, go forth and make disciples, you cannot do that if you do not allow your congregation to move in the gifts they have. This Pastor, brother and friend shows a rare quality that other Pastors should work on developing. Pastors either don't realize, care or are in it for the business and might I say that preaching is not a business, its a God calling gift and if you are holding your congregation back from moving in their gifts, you will have God to answer to and I would not want to be in that position. So thank you to the Pastor for showing me that there sill are Pastors out there for the right reasons, and go above and beyond. God has blessed you and your family so much and will continue, GOD BLESS YOU!
I guess there are thousands if not millions of people hat do not fully understand what it means to have a relationship with Christ.. It means that the holy spirit has come to dwell in a person, and that once that happens they become one with Jesus Christ. A person who is truly walking with the Lord cannot go against what the Holy Spirit has instilled in you. Jesus lives inside you. so you belong to him.
The woman that quit her job because she cannot bring herself to perform gay marriages did the right thing because she belongs to Christ and not the world. She listens to Christ and obeys. She knows his voice.
The world is going to try and tear us down, belittle us, persecute us, and hate us. But Jesus told us this would happen and those that endure the persecution will be blessed because we are suffering nothing less than what he went through dying for all mankind on the cross.
I truly believe that at this time the goats are being separated for the sheep. God is observing all those that say they are Christians to see if they will cave to the world or walk the narrow road before them that leads to everlasting peace. I know what I am going to do. I know what I have to do. I know I cannot go against every fiver in my being that says "I belong to Christ, and nothing man can do to me can ever separate me from the love of God" My allegiance is to him. It trumps my love for my husband, my family, and most certainly this world. I have to give HIm my all because he gave his all for me.
SISTER PRISCILLA 2ND EDITORIAL
In response to the supreme court ruling, I am deeply saddened. we have mocked God to long. A shift in the spiritual world is taking place. Five unelected officials made a decision that will crush us. I want to encourage Christians in this way... FEAR NOT FOR I AM WITH YOU. his own words. the HOLY BIBLE is filled with love, promises, and wrath, but the promises to us is my focus. some promises are not that happy, for instance the word says we will be hated and persecuted for him names sake, but the wonderful promise is, that we will live with our father eternally....I agree with the article written by Sister Priscilla, we cannot turn an eye to evil, we must show it for what it is, yes we will be persecuted but the blessings and the promise of eternal life out weighs the persecution. Be prepared though, we will and are considered criminals now. the world is against us. but that's ok, we know that victory has been won already. this ministry does not support gay marriage. but let me be bold.
DO NOT FEAR
DO NOT WORRY FOR WE KNEW THESE THINGS WOULD COME TO PASS. THE BIBLE SAYS SO. BUT WE MUST STAND FIRM AND STRONG ON THE WORD OF GOD AND NEVER SWAY. FOR WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD AND SOLDIERS WITH A TWO EDGE SWORD CALLED THE HOLY BIBLE AND THAT CAN NEVER BE DEFEATED...I STAND FOR JESUS. THIS WORLD WILL PASS AWAY BUT THE WORD OF GOD IS EVERLASTING. SO IF I AM HATED, IF YOU ARE HATED, PRAISE GOD. THANK HIM.
I hope this is some encouragement.
Just recently a Fb friend uttered the tired worn out statement that we should not judge others. We are to love them, I guess, no matter what. People throw that statement around have little to no knowledge of the bible and what it says about the subject. If they did, they would know the story of the Apostle Paul and how he made it his life's work to persecute followers of Christ. They would also know how God reached down to him on the Damascus road and brought him into a relationship with Jesus Christ. They would know about the letters Paul wrote to the church of Corinth admonishing them because of their evil deeds. He did that out of love for those people and the church. He was Harsh, and many hated him for it and threatened him with harm. But God gave him strength and helped him carry on through all the persecution he endured. What happened to on june 26 and the ruling that was passed by five men who think they know better than God Almighty is an abomination; and spitting in God's face if you will. It is a decision that is going to bring down a nation because we have showed a final act of defiance against everything that God intended for a nation to be. Is it wrong to bring attention to the fact that well over 57 million babies have died since the court ruling in 1973? Is stating that fact judgemental? I think not. It is seeing evil and calling it out for what it is. when someone utters the words "we are not suppose to judge others" that is a little lie that the devil is whispering in their ear. Christians are to love others as they love themselves but we are to detest evil. I detest evil and everything it represents. It is not about having friends that are gay, or who may have had an abortion and passing judgement on them. What it really boils down to is this; do we love them enough to let them know that there is forgiveness and that they don't have to be a slave to guilt or a sin that is going to eternally separate them from being with God? Embracing their sin is not the same as loving them. When we start embracing their sin and do nothing to show them the truth of Jesus Christ, we are putting ourselves in jeopardy of hearing those terrible words from Jesus when we see him face to face; DEPART FROM ME. I NEVER KNEW YOU.
A Quote that I think sums it up is this;
"silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. Dietrich Bonhoeffer..
We see it again! More non peaceful protests that have done nothing more than discredit the intentions of supportive protests. When will society take responsibility for their actions and do things in a more humane manor. The truth of the matter, it is way to soon to have all the facts in on Freddie Grey. All the facts are not in yet, but the hype has already caused much damage. A young man is dead, and a community has a choice, come together in a Godly way, or act out the same violence that has been in the past year while jumping to conclusions.
Seems the world today has been taught by the leaders of this country that it is ok to be violent, to carry out the eye for an eye scripture but the problem is, not only are they taking it to the innocent bystanders, but Jesus said that his greatest commandment is LOVE. Leadership seems to lean towards the "eye for an eye" instead of forgiveness, honesty, love etc. There will be more young men buried, more young children on drugs or turning tricks to keep from being beaten by their pimp because parents are raising their children to be violent, criminals and want their children to fight a war on slavery that not only has that war already been won, but their children and in most cases even the parent was not even born during slavery. Some things in life you cannot fix, but you can make a choice to be a better parent, so that your children can be an asset to lives everywhere or atleast to their own children. Get over the blame game. I do not know anyone who is still alive today that was a slave, so why do we keep putting gas on the fire? the government owes nothing to descendents of slaves because only the ones who were slaves suffered that ordeal. Parents, try taking your kids to church, Learn the way of the Lord, teach your children that life sometimes comes at your hard but the Lord says "I will show you another way", children if you want to be grown, if your parents are teaching you evil, show THEM good instead. I see a lot of children that are able to teach their parents a thing or too...take all that anger, sadness
s, hurt etc., and open Gods word...you will find something much better there, be a community builder, not a community destroyer...we have more good cops than bad ones, the bad ones are very few, we should focus on that, because you do call the cops when you need them right? respect them, don't run, we have due process, no the system may not be perfect, but it would be better to give the system a try rather than have your family grieve you being gone.
trust in the Lord with all your heart, God bless,
when does it stop!!!!
